*Supervised (Novice) (HG/PG) Pilots
· Supervised rated pilots may fly only under the direct supervision of an HGFA Instructor or SSO,
· Supervised rated pilots must always land on the beach.
· Supervised rated pilots (HG and PG) are not permitted to fly north of Mangles St, the blue section in the map below.
*Intermediate / Advanced (HG/PG) Pilots
· Top-landing operations are only allowed when;
· The Pilot holds either an Intermediate or Advanced HGFA license, and
· The Pilot has received a site briefing and has top-landing approval recorded in his / her logbook from an HGFA qualified Instructor or Senior Safety Officer (SSO), and
· Warning sandwich-board signs are in place, and
· The top-landing can be made without endangering any person(s) on the ground, and
· The top-landing can be made safely and in accordance with standard approach procedures.
Site Description: Low coastal cliff or dune.

General Rules:
· All Pilots (HG/PG) are required to be a current member of Hang Gliding Federation of Australia to fly this site.
· Foreign Pilots must have an HGFA ‘Visiting Pilot Membership’.
· All Pilots must carry their HGFA license and have it available for inspection.
· PG Pilots are to use established pathways for returning to the top of the ridge.
· Powered operations are not permitted.
· All pilots recognise that Back Beach is a very public site and as such all pilots are expected to follow best practice site etiquette. This includes, but is not restricted to:
· No littering
· Care for the natural environment
· No tramping on dunes
· No abusive language
· General politeness to any members of the general public or City Officials
